What makes a background feel premium

Premium is less about drama and more about control. The frame should feel considered: even light, honest texture, and no leftover artifacts from the camera or the edit.

Texture you can sit on

Good surfaces have micro-detail without noise. You should be able to drop a sharp UI on top and still read both layers. If the grain is too coarse, the interface looks pasted. If it is too clean, the scene looks like a gradient.

Light that already exists

The strongest mockups borrow light from the background instead of inventing a new key. Soft falloff, a slight vignette, and a consistent highlight direction do more than a heavy color grade.

Nothing extra

Watermarks, props, and logos in the scene make the product look like a guest. A premium background is empty on purpose. The catalog is built that way so the mockup can be the only object in the frame.
